E. macquarii is now ooccasionally seen in the ACT. Not clear if it occurs naturally or they are from escapees or releases. In my day the nearest record was Burrenjuck Dam! There is also the possibility of the introduced Red-eared Slider, Trachydermes scripta occurring here although I have no records and it is not included in the latest field guide of the ACT by La Rance et al. 2025, but Wilson et al. includes the ACT in their 2025 field guide
