What is the other sound it seems to be responding to? Or is that just throat clearing :-).

Fantastic breeding record, thanks David! Agree, the adults would have been born in the reserve so the chicks are 3+ generation Mulligans-born.

Thanks so much for reporting this significant sighting. This is the first report of a bush stone-curlew southside since one was recorded in Red Hill in 2022. It is likely other curlews have been in the area since then, but either not detected or simply not reported.
