User's notes

The first two photos show the live caterpillar from both sides as it was climbing a window on 8 January. The next two photos show the empty case after the wasp in the last photo had hatched from it on 8 April. The silk case was extremely strong and surprisingly difficult to prise open. More details of moth and wasp can be seen in sightings 4483049 and 4483058.
