Yes I know. Very hard to take a photo on my phone in the forest. But I know dusky wood swallows. At least a dozen come here every spring and they are immaculate birds with very distinctive flight patterns. I assure you this is a dusky woodswallow.

It's pretty frustrating when you know what is here. I dont have sophisticated camera equipment to give you clearer photos. I could in the open country here but its not in the conservation area so wouldn't qualify. I did note that dusky wood swallows are considered a locally significant bird. Thought it was worth submitting.

@ludomcferran I don't have a good phone camera for birds, so I post all my significant bird observations through ebird. The end result is the same, the location and information you have on the threatened species is recorded. So then you don't need to have a photo.

Thanks Bethany. I'll list them on the birdlife count too. They even accept bird song as a 'sighting' .

Appreciate the effort here! It is hard to get photos on the phone camera, an alternative would be to try and record the calls using your phones microphone. You can submit these calls as a sighting they can be verified.
Bethany does raise a good point and we might look into pulling information from other sources like ebird but unfortunately, I am unsure if ebird eventually goes to appropriate government databases like Bionet. Bethany might have more info on this but it's worth investigating.
