Cicindela (Hypaetha) upsilon (Tiger beetle)

Subfamily Cicindelinae.

Found on sea beaches. Adults are active running predators of insects and other invertebrates. Larvae live in vertical shafts which they plug with their flat heads, and ambush passing insects.
