Boletellus obscurecoccineus (Rhubarb Bolete)
The fruit body is a bolete. The cap is reddish, the spongy pore layer on the underside of the cap is yellow and the stem is yellowish towards the top but lower it is of a colour similar to that of the cap. At maturity, the more-or-less hemispherical cap may be up to 10 cm across but often is less than 5. The stem is 1-2 cm in diameter, up to 10 cm long and dotted with tiny scales.
No partial nor universal veil.
The pores may bruise blue when rubbed, but the reaction may be slow or very slight.
Spore print: brown.
On soil or wood.
