Fletcher (2011, https://biodiversity.org.au/afd/taxa/Horouta_aristarche) says 'This species, which is distributed along the eastern coastline of Australia from SE Queensland to Victoria, is only known in a brachypterous form. It is reasonably distinctive in colouration with pale transverse bands on the hind portions of the pronotum, tegmina and, usually, abdominal tergite 9'.
