Diamma bicolor (Blue ant, Bluebottle ant)
Although called 'blue ant', this is in fact a female wasp.The male is a more conventional wasp with wings; it has a black body with white spots on the abdomen. The Blue ant female digs in the soil in search of mole crickets, which it paralyzes before laying a single egg on them; the hatching wasp grub then consumes the cricket.
