Eretmochelys imbricata (Hawksbill Turtle)

To distinguish from the more common Green Turtle: the beak projects forward in Hawksbills, but not in Greens. Between the eyes on the top of the head there are two pairs of prefrontal scales in the Hawksbill, while Greens only have one pair of prefrontal scales. There are few, relatively large temporal scales (behind the eye) on Hawksbills, as opposed to the more numerous, smaller temporal scales on Greens.
