A common species found in clusters on bark of decaying sassafras.
The fruitbodies consist of a shallow cup, upto 5-6 mm diameter, with a rudimentary stalk; the cup at first rounded, soon expanding to a wavy margin with maturity, upper surface yellow; outer surface covered with with a minute layer of white hairs.
