Status: Introduced.
Size: In steams may grow between 0.5 and 2.3kg, while lake-dwelling forms may grow much larger.
Description: Adult fish are distinguished by a broad reddish stripe along the lateral line, from gills to the tail, which is most vivid in breeding males. May have dark bands or par marks in small specimens
Location: Upland cool waters of the coastal and Murray Darling Basin catchments of the CNM region. They are stocked into lakes rivers and streams and naturally reproducing in many areas.
