And as we pass 200 records, here are a few tips from me on collecting quality images to assist with verification:

  • Try and collect multiple images of a specimen, whether it be animal, plant or other. Try taking photos from different angles (above, below, adjacent) and do your best to get them in focus!
  • On that, if you are trying to take an image of a slender subject (say for example an orchid) try putting your hand just behind the subject; it will help your camera to focus in on it!

Regardless, some species are hard to identify, so we appreciate your patience as records are analysed and verified.
