NatureMapr will cease operation nationally (excluding ACT) from 30 Jun 2026.

Please note: Areas of NSW within the "Canberra Nature Map" boundary will continue to be supported through to 2029/2030.

We recommend and encourage all users to export their data for their own records and safe keeping, well in advance of 30 Jun 2026.

Cease of operation in ACT - 2029/2030

"Canberra Nature Map" will continue to be supported through to FY 2029/2030, after which time it will cease operation.

We recommend and encourage all users to export their data for their own records and safe keeping, well in advance of 2029/2030.

How can I export my data?

You can export all of your uploaded sighting records including media files by using the data export facility.

  1. From the user dropdown menu, go to My sightings
  2. Click the Export button

A CSV file containing all of your uploaded sighting records will be emailed to you.

NatureMapr will ensure you are well supported during the data export process.

If you are unable to obtain your sighting records for any reason, please contact support for assistance.

Can I transfer my records to another platform?

Absolutely - your sighting records belong to you.

Once you have exported your sighting records from NatureMapr, you can upload them to any platform of your choice by contacting your preferred destination platform and/or using their data import facility.

Can NatureMapr transfer my records to another platform?

Sighting records uploaded to NatureMapr have already been shared with the CSIRO Atlas of Living Australia and for ACT records: ACT Government Atlas and Biodiversity Data Repository (BDR).

Records collected as part of NSW BCT Land Libraries will be shared with NSW BioNet.

NatureMapr is not resourced to assist with the uploading of existing sighting records to any other destination platform(s) of choice on behalf of users.

What about NSW BCT Land Libraries?

If you are a participant of the NSW BCT Land Libraries program, please continue reporting your sightings and the BCT Education team will be in touch regarding next steps for the program.
