Ah. one of those flat, two-dimensional fungi, which are great under the microscope and which I like greatly for that reason. However, most of them offer very little to the naked eye. There are a few genera this could belong to. In many cases when I start to look at something like the one in this photo, my eager anticipation turns to disappointment because the subject turns out to be Schizopora paradoxa, very common. In this photo you can see that the pores are not all more or less circular. A number of them are quite angular, or even elongated or otherwise irregular. That is consistent with Schizopora, but not enough as proof of that being the genus.
