Very unlikely to have been photographed in or close to Canberra.
What are the co-ordinates in the photo's metadata?
   14 Mar 2016
The page gives the location as Kioloa, NSW. This is south of Bawley Point. It is within the geographical area of the Canberra Nature Map. There are no coordinates in the photos metadata. The co-ordinates are from this site's map.

David: CNM hides the coordinates until the ID has been confirmed by an expert, to ensure that the species is not sensitive before revealing location. CNM accepts sightings form a 300km radius of Canberra

Recently reduced to 200km :)

I had entered a few bird sightings over the 200km mark around lake burrendong for sample images. Does this affect those in any way or just future sightings?

Hi Ryu,

Yes exactly. Existing sightings will stay just fine and this change only impacts newly reported sightings etc.

Thanks Aaron.

I noticed earlier when exploring data that for some nature reserves (Wanniassa Hills, Fadden, etc.), bird sightings don't show up on the map or species guides.
For others, like Jerrabomberra Wetlands and McQuiod's Hill, they show up just fine.
Could you look into it?

This bird was less than 120 km from Canberra.

Hi Ryu,
Wanniassa Hills, Fadden, etc are 100% bird free zones, didn't you know? I don't think any birds have ever flown into these reserves, there are large invisible fences erected around the reserves to prevent birds from entering and hence no bird records. LOL!!! Ok I better look into this, thanks for the heads up... Cheers Aaron.
