The tide was low when I saw a mass of these averaging about 1cm, with some about 1.5cm, on the rocks. I took a couple macro photos.

From the size of the mussels I think they are more likely to be the Little Black Horse Mussel

yes, I think you are right Jenny. Also given the site is further south, where they would be more common
