on wood (Willow/Wattle). I find it within the banks of a creek i.e. a wet spot

Hi Jackie, thanks for your prompt reply. I was not aware that the images were inserts I'll try to avoid that next time. This is a striking fungus and a bit hard to keep away from, hence, I have multiple images of at various times during its' life cycle. It may not be as I have identified as the gill colour changes from a white/cream through a honey colour (I guessed this might explain the common name 'Australian Honey Fungus'), to a reddish tinge. I have a range of references I use when trying to identify fungi, this one is often useful. http://www.elfram.com/fungi/fungi_home.html and includes this fungus. Can send more images if required.
