User's notes

Need ID help for this one. Large seabird which we didn't notice until it had already flown over us, on a beach at Bournda National Park. Initial impression from behind was a large raptor around sea-eagle size. It then continued to fly directly away from us (north into the sun) for 100s of metres (probably well over a km in total), before it finally briefly turned back towards the sea and I could now tell that it was a sea bird. Hope these photos are sufficient as they were all I managed and severely cropped.

Hello Ryu, I've suggest Pacific Gull but will wait for your reply before I confirm it, as you were there, there have been a few juveniles around since late March.

Thanks guys, gull hadn't even occured to me as I hadn't realised they were so large! Are you confident about Pacific vs Kelp Gull for that location?
