Charles if you look at photos of Lentinus (used to be Panus) fasciatus and see if your photo was of this species. Unfortunately your interesting photo doesn't show enough detail for identification
Yes Charles, I've confirmed you have Lentinus fasciatus. Have a careful look at your smaller ones, as they are showing some of the distinctive characteristics of this species of funnel-shaped cap with inrolled margins, covered with stiff hairs. It's a species that will rehydrate after rain. Has white spores and even though it has gills is in the family Polyporaceae!
