For NatureMapr Im using a combination of iPad for GPS and SLR for clarity of image. For this shot David found the owl and we came back to my place to get a 300mm zoom and returned to the forest -luckily the owl was still there. We had some issues with calibrating the GPS devices and data wasn't as available - so I am finding a multi tiered approach works well. David and Zoe were recording GPS for this exercise, and calibrated their devices after noticing that the information they had gathered was incorrect- it has been invaluable to have a range of devices available for these purposes.

David spotted the tree hollow from the car and we got out to investigate. There were loads of noisy birds shouting out and he looked up and saw the owl. It flew around a little bit and we went away, lucky when we returned it was still there! David had literally just arrived in town, jumped off the bus, we picked him up and drove him to the forest and he saw this right away!
