Def not a Wolf spider (family Lycosidae), looks more like a male Megadolomedes australianus, or Giant Water spider (from family Pisuaridae)..

Well done Paul, and Charles, was a stiph challenge to ID this one! Never heard of them before; the one thing I have learned today :)
