User's notes

A very small case moth. Will try to keep an eye on it if it hasn't already matured. About half an inch in length maybe.

Some Oecophoridae and Tineidae live in cases up to 1 cm long covered in detritus.
To get an ID, you would have to take it into protective custody to see what may come out in due course.

Okay. It was in the park just behind my street, on the trunk of a Eucalyptus, but I'm not sure what I should feed it if I take it into protective custody. Might also have been a bit high for me to reach but will check it out tomorrow.

Maybe take a broom to help reach it.
It may feed on algae on the bark, or gum leaves, or the case may be empty already.

It must have been alive as I couldn't find it this afternoon. However, it was very small and I was tired after along day so will check again in coming days.
