Here you can clearly see the winding, branching plasmodiocarps of this pretzel shaped myxomycete; in some of the images the peridium has begun to dehisce and the capillitium has commenced to spring forth to release its load of spores.

It comes in many different shades, but don't be fooled, there is a Physarum which looks similar; you can't differentiate without the microscope......
