Mutinus caninus is another of the 'stinkhorns' found in this forest. A large colony found on a fallen tree, covered in numerous 'eggs' attached by white rhizomorphs / white mycelial strands. Fruit bodies are 60 - 80 mm tall and 0.5 - 0.75 mm wide; pure white; hollow spongy; glega on upper 10 - 20 mm of receptacle black, in netted patten with pink tip extended with rounded ostiole; Volval gelatinous remnants remain at base embedded in the wood.
