User's notes

A single tall fungi with a delicate cap but surprisingly firm stalk. Cap was 4 cms across and coloured pale brown and white with pale visible stripes. The cap has creamy gills underneath. The stalk was approx. 2 mms across and tall, 13 cms.

This specimen is showing you the extremes in colour variation for this fungus compared with your sighting on 01.05.2020. The problem is there has not been enough research done into this fungus, particularly here in Australia. Hence the species is listed as 'radicata group' which is most probably a collection of species or if you go for it 'subspecies'. Good to see this variation thanks for putting it up for people to see.
