Growing in grass and eucalyptus leaf litter. It was unusual to see the caps crowding each other so tightly.

I have my doubts this is a Cortinarius. Have never seen one with these sorts of gills, which are most distinctive. The top of the stipe in the third image appears to show a light colouring of spores. Though I would have thought too pale for Cortinarius. An interesting and unusual species. You have me baffled! At this stage I'm only confident enough to go the 'Agaric - gilled fungus' - sorry.
