I have heard that there are quite a few of these orchids flowering at Mt. Cooroora at present with some are quite large plants. They are leafless and rely on a symbiotic relationship with a mycorrhizal fungi for nutrients.

They are incredible survivors. This one has been quietly living out its life on the road verge outside our property for over 30 years, but if you didn't know where to look, you'd never even see it.

We had one appear in our yard about 15 years ago and then nothing for a few years until we cut down an exotic tree in our front yard. Since 2017 we have had three come up in the same place each year and flowering beautifully. When the underground timber finally decompose, we probably won't see it again, but still it has been quite exciting to see it for the last few years.
