This fungus makes some spectacular displays. It causes white rot, so if you have a chance to look at the wood it's growing on you will see it becomes soft, stringy to crumbly and light coloured. I find this saprotrophic fungus (decomposer) is often one of the first ones to start showing reproductive structures on certain types of dead wood.
