Growing in burnt wood. The largest was about 40 mm across the cap.

These little 'polypores' have distinctive 'coffin' shaped pores and usually a cap fringed with tiny hairs. They often seem to be one of the earlier fungi to appear after rain and I think of them as the heralds of fungi to come and that the season is about to start!
