These ducks were in the shape (and size) of Shovelers but the colouring of grey teals. Do female shovellers not have the white patch at the rear like the males?

According to my field guide they don't. You've had a great time out at Wonga Wetlands it seems!

After going out again I realise these birds are immature. One is starting to colour into a male and the other three females.
