YAY. I finally got a live beetle in my local area. And what a strange looking one it is. It was quite big - just a tad smaller than the fiddler scarab beetle I saw over at the coast at christmas. Crossed the path in front of me.

Thanks Kylie - I'm sure it will be the first of many beetle records - flowering bursaria bushes are a good place to look for both jewel and scarab beetles
