Wouldn't be Wb treecreeper, would be Brown

Hi Liam, what makes you think it was a Brown treecreeper?
   27 Oct 2021
White-browed treecreeper's don't occur down here, you didn't mean to put white-throated did you?
   27 Oct 2021
Unless you meant white throated of course (thanks Darcy).
   27 Oct 2021
Whoops, yeah. Just saw the white and checked it. It definitely wasn't a white browed I saw and I'm fairly certain it was a white throated. Cheers fellas

It doesn't look like any treecreeper nest I've seen before. Its too neat and round. And there's no fur or fluff. Looks more like an Eastern Yellow Robin nest - isn't that a tiny yellow feather on the right?
   27 Oct 2021
Nar definitely wasn't a Robin. I definitely saw a treecreeper leaving the nest

I’m definitely not an expert on nest ID but I do agree that the nest looks better for and Eastern Yellow, the eggs looks good for eastern yellow too
   27 Oct 2021
yeah from googling looks a bit like a yellow robin nest, perhaps a treecreeper was just checking it out?
   27 Oct 2021
Would be an unusual nesting site for tree creeper too, don’t they normally nest in hollows??
   27 Oct 2021
That's what I thought as well. Perhaps it was just checking out someone else's nest. It was built on the side of a thistle.

well done chris. you made us all go pull books and search the internet for answers!
   28 Oct 2021
Haha I thought it was a clear cut ID. But I think you are all right, seems more likely a Eastern Yellow Robin I pulled out my books too Kylie haha.

Impressive work everyone!!

Congrats Chris on your photo joining the feature wall! For nests it would be good to have a photo side on as well as inside to help ID.

Thanks Kylie. Yeah I was thinking that I should have taken a photo showing the size a bit better when I uploaded it.
