Hi Forest, thanks for the record. There are relatively few records of this species from NSW in your area. This species digs long burrows which are used at night in the active season, and continually for half the year. When danger threatens they retreat to one of their burrows or just to a shallow 'bolt hole'. Most burrows are impregnable to fire, foxes or dingoes, so RG populations tend not to be as badly reduced by bushfires as those of surface dwelling animals and tree hole dwellers.
