Unsure what insect this is so have placed it under True Flies for now. The insect was sighted on a Citrus plant. When disturbed it flew fast in a straight line to an adjacent surface and then left the area. Image and sighting by Chris S.
12/01/2022 Update: Information provided by Chris Burwell identifies the inspect as "A species of planthopper in the family Fulgoridae and the genus Desudaba. It may well be Desudaba psittacus, but identification of species in the genus from photographs is not advisable." Many thanks to Dr Roger Farrow for facilitating the identification.
