this butterfly was so blue when it flew but wouldn't open its wings when landed. this is the only thing in my book that looks like it - but moonbeams are more native to QLD.

Hi Kylie, moonbeams don't have the all the black dots on their underwing, and you can see the orange patch in the forewings showing through in your lovely photo, that is also diagnostic for this species. Nice find!
