Better botanists than I am (I'm a physicist) on the Coastal Wilderness site tell me this should be Cheilanthes sieberi ssp sieberi. I'm not familiar with the subtle difference.

To be perfectly correct, that is right. The other taxon Cheilanthes sieberi subsp. pseudovellea occurs only on the north-western plains.
