Collared Sparrowhawk? Some very annoyed Cockies flushed this bird out of a very tall gum and then one Cockie chased it out of lower trees, across the water, and into more distant tree cover!

I'm only going by the size compared to the cockie - and the fact that the cockie was able to chase it!

From memory male goshawks can be a similar size to female sparrowhawk (I might be wrong). The rounded tail makes me think goshawk, but I’m not confident

It was a fleeting sighting. Lucky to get any photo at all. Happy to leave it as inconclusive.

I’ll leave it as accipiter sp. though it is probably a goshawk
