This bee... wasp... fly had green eyes. Its crossed over wings lit purple in the sun and it had a striped butt. It was pretty small. At the time I thought it was a fly but I'm not sure what it is.

Thanks for IDing KimberiRP. I've had a few different sand wasps now and clearly haven't learnt what to look for except they always seem small and have a striped butt.
