On 17-05-22, I added a close-up of the head in image 4.

The model and the mimic are not easy to tell apart. The mouthparts are a give away. The lycid has a short rostrum whereas the oedemerid has prognathus mouthparts. A close up of the head in image 4 would determine this.

Thanks for the description of the difference between the beetles. I have added an enlargement of the head in image 4, but the resolution is poor.
