User's notes

On the beach at shark bay, possibly brought in by some fisherman wanting dinner. Or perhaps illegally caught?

Have been advised this is a molt.

The only lobsters likely to be in NSW are Jasus edwardsii and Jasus verreauxi. I don't know if this is one of them. It looks like it has been cooked as there appears to be flesh left in the base of the feeler and a moult would be clean inside.

I believe Sagmariasus verreauxi is the new name for Jasus verreauxi, & J. verreauxi is given as a synonym.

Yes I suspect that is the situation, Thomas Mesaglio has confirmed the ID as Sagmariasus verreauxi

Any chance of getting Thomas Mesaglio to be a moderator for Sth Coast Nature Map?

That's a good idea, I can ask him.
