Euproctis paradoxa or a similar species

Ian, you might also need to look at Moths of Vic pt2 2nd Ed p.19 - Acyphas chionitis ?

While the similarity between this excellent photo and that shown for the caterpillar on Lepidoptera Butterfly House for E. paradoxa is striking, this sighting is from coastal Mossy Point, South Coat NSW, a location much further south than for siightings of this species on the ALA. Looking at Moths of Vic pt2 2nd Ed p.19 that photo is very similar also. And A. chionits is known to have a much more extensive distribution in SE Australia including South Coast NSW. Several Lymnatridae caterpillars appear to be similar so i am not confident to say this is E. parodoxa and not A. chionits on this photo alone.
