Down south we would have plumped for Heteromicta pachytera most likely, but the two black streaks with white dots and more prominent palps suggest to me Lomeria eumeces - although I may be wrong. These are variable species I think judgeng by the limited range of photos I've seen.

Ian, I think your first thought might be correct. Note the striped legs on my specimen, Lomoria eumeces are not striped. As I no longer have the light sheet material used in these images, I have done some thread counting to get a better estimate of the wing span of my specimen. Comparing two known species of different sizes, I estimate mine is around 22.7-24.3mm. This is in line with the original description of Heteromicta pachytera 23-25mm while based on a female the original description for Lomoria eumeces is 42mm

Unfortunately, this part of the original description may exclude Heteromicta pachytera , “♂ Head whitish-grey irrorated with blackish, with short dense overhanging frontal tuft. Labial palpi short, appressed, almost concealed in frontal scales,”

Yes, I thought the long labila palpi ruled out H. pachytera. certain;y noy v. gypsopa or S. syntaracta. i've looked in Scoparia but counlný find a match.
