User's notes
Barea cratista Turner, 1935, in BOLD as Barea tesselata, this appears to be derived from Telecrates tesselata Lucas, 1900 (Proc. R. Soc. QLD 15: 159) and on reading both original descriptions, they appear to be the same species (one notable difference size tesselata, 20mm, cratista, 30-32mm) making Lucas's tesselata, senior. Lucas's tesselata is not in the AFD and was also missed in the 1996 Checklist. I do not know how BOLD came up with Lucas's 1900 tesselata or whether cratista Turner, 1935 has ever been formally been placed in synonymy with it but it appears to be correct. At present following AFD as Barea cratista Turner, 1935

Turner's type is from Toowoomba and Common illustrates one from Toowoomba in Vol 8 of the Monographs. There is no doubt this fits Barea cratista Turner, 1935 but it looks like BOLD has discovered a previously unknown synonym in Telecrates tesselata Lucas, 1900, (type location Brisbane) yet to be formally recognized.
