Too young to be certain. Could be one of several species. Probably not Polystichum proliferum.

Probably Christella dentata. The fern has a soft feel to the fronds doe to fine hairs.

Well this one I can water because it’s on my property 😊
Kevin - you won’t understand. There is a fern in my local reserve that is too young and probably won’t develop due to location and climate conditions so I suggested I could water it. 😊. I was told that it might not be allowed in a reserve - for me to water a fern. Anyway, this is near a creek that doesn’t go dry so we can wait I guess unless Kevin is confident enough to make the call.
