This is our resident Megachile bee who has made use of the bee hotel at our property. She was on the mulch beneath some flowers here on a cooler day. She was not ill and is still alive 2 months later. I suspect she was resting or collecting resin.

It is hard to be certain, but she looks more like M. lucidiventris from what I can see, because there seems to be quite a lot of white hair at the front of the abdomen (well the metasoma, strictly speaking, because they are not quite the same). M. punctata has only a small amount of white hair at the sides.
