I don't know if this is a stand-alone fungus, or the stalk of one? I looked around, and I couldn't see anything that might be the cap - and the top of the stalk looks complete, not torn?

Interesting, possibly part of a Clavulina sp - also seen similar in a nearby area today

If a Clavulina then very heavily parasitized - so many of those dot-like perithecia! Amazing.
