An exciting find, @Span102! I think it might be Telephlebia godeffroyi, Eastern Evening Darner, but this dragonfly has been accidentally listed under damselflies.

@Span102 do you have any shots that show the end of the abdomen where the anal appendages are?

Thanks @Curiosity and @KorinneM - i have updated the sighting with the only picture i took with the anal appendages - the image wasn't very clear so I didn't post it - it flew away before I could take any more. I hope it helps!

It is a female so the anal appendages don't help. I'm not familiar with Eastern Evening Darner, but the location fits much better for the range for Eastern than Southern Evening Darner.

I agree that for the location Eastern is the most likely. Confirmed it as such.
