User's notes

These large beetles were once frequent while I was growing up, but now only ever seen by me at this spot, it seems a lot of insects spend all night around the lights of the building and end up exhausted the next day. If on their backs and where people can tread on them, I move them to the garden there.

Thanks for your care a lovely beetle that emerges in summer to mate. Not sure about numbers now and in the past but Christmas beetles, other summer emergent scarabs are also thought to be seriously down in numbers
