User's notes

During this now wet season, today monsoon weather, heavy rain we have here at the moment; came into our apartment, presumably for shelter from the heavy rain. Insect – I guess a wasp ? Body until antennas ca. 13mm long – with antennas ca. 15 mm long. Please assist with identification . I really appreciate asisstance . I moved it back outside onto the balcony on a good grip fabric surface still under plenty of shelter . Better daylight for making these photographs as well . 2025 January 28th 5:18–5:38 pm Manoora, Gimuy [Cairns], wet tropics bioregion, NE Qld. I made a macro close up focussed video, including warming up beating the wings, i can share a link to if this helps with identification ? If so please request it in a comment.

Thanks Sam. I have suggested Lophyrotoma interrupta. If you are not sure, I could confirm it as Lophyrotoma sp. (genus).
