Interesting, my field guide suggests that the red mark on the eyebrow of the Striated Pardalote is for race melanocephalus, which it says is from the Hunter region NSW to north east Queensland, west to Barcaldine, so this seems to be a bit out of range?
I find that the field guides aren’t super reliable with subspecies ranges for striated pards. The subspecies each tend to wander significantly past their ‘ranges’ , but they tend to be easily overlooked and are hence under reported (and their movements probably poorly understood). That aside, this bird looks like a classic uropygialis to me, though I see where the confusion stems from (again I think the field guides underrepresent the intensity of the orange on the eyebrow (there are some clear examples of this on the Atlas of Living Australia))
